On 3rd and 4th October 2008 the fourth international Symposium about animal assisted therapy with the title “Professional Animal Assisted Therapy – Planning, Practice, Evaluation” will take place at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna.
It's a symposium about animal assisted therapy, animal assisted activities and animal assisted pedagogy that offers interested persons and institutions the possibility to present new projects, exchange experiences and to discuss the newest scientific knowledge in this field.
To further promote the scientific and social recognicion of animal assisted therapy it is essential to develop professional therapy concepts and –plans, to evaluate their implementation and the effects of the therapy-units and to consider appropriate risk management. Likewise important for the professionalization of animal assisted therapy will be legal provisions and the recognition as full fledged profession.
Internationally renown lecturers who speak about these and other topics will be available for exchange of experiences and scientific results. All participants are also invited to present their current projects or scientific results with posters.
The mayor of Vienna invites all participants and lecturers of the symposium to the Vienna City Hall for an evening-event after the lectures on October 3rd.
The congress fee for TAT-Members and students is € 150, for all other participants who register before 15th August 2008 € 200.
For all registrations after 15th August 2008 the congress fee is € 250.
